Building Community
The mission of the Big Red School House & Community Center is to provide a safe meeting place for citizens of Henderson County & surrounding areas to gather, learn and prosper.
Technical Training
The 15,000 square foot building with 3 large classrooms and a large open training facility is adaptable to a multitude of training needs such as RV technical training, welding education, auto repair and more.
Space to Gather
The 6,000 square feet of open floor space along with a full kitchen and large, ADA approved restrooms provide a functional and adaptable space for meetings, social gatherings, or even formal round-table events.

It Starts with a Vision...
A dedicated group of individuals had a dream to build a place that could serve the needs of a growing community of RV focused entreprenuers, as well as the bustling community of Athens, Texas and the surrounding areas.
In May of 2019, that dream was realized with the grand opening of the Big Red School House & Community Center.
Since opening, the facility has been dedicated to providing a safe place for people to gather, learn, and prosper and we've been overwhelmed by the support from Henderson County and the communities we serve.

WHERE WE ARE LOCATED
In the Great State of Texas...
Nestled amongst the trees along Texas Highway 175W, The Big Red Schoolhouse & Community Center is located on the grounds of the Texan RV Park in Athens, Texas.
The park contains 89 RV sites, 6 cabins and a country cottage for rent, and 3 small lakes situated on 37 lush acres.
The Texan RV Park provides a clean, comfortable and convenient place for guests to relax and unwind.

Thank you for considering The Big Red School House & Community Center for your upcoming event! If you have any questions concerning the pricing and information listed below please do not hestitate to reach out to us.
In addition to the main open floor area that can be reserved for groups of 51 up to a maximum of 299, the Big Red School House has 3 large meeting rooms that can hold up to 50 guests each.

Non-Profit Organizations are eligible to receive deeply discounted rental rates. Discounted amounts are based upon the number of guests attending. Valid Non-Profit status must be provided at time of booking to qualify for these rates.
- Non-Profit organizations with 20 or less guests receive 3 free hours in one of our meeting rooms. If you require 6 hours or 12 hours you will receive a 50% discount off the standard rental rates.
- Non-Profit organizations with 20-50 guests receive 50% off the standard rental rates.
- Non-Profit organizations with 50-299 guests receive 25% off the open floor rental rates.
A catering kitchen is available at a rate of $150 for the first 2 hours, $35 each additional hour.
Overtime Rates
Any event going over the scheduled time will be charged at the following rates:
Meeting Rooms - $50 per hour
Open Floor - $100 per hour
